Before coming to Sleep Science Academy, Toni’s sleep was stressful, inconsistent and interrupted. It would take her until 3 or 4 in the morning to fall asleep in her recliner. After a few hours she would wake up, stay awake for a while then eventually fall back asleep in her bed for another hour or so. She was averaging 4 hours of sleep a night.
She tried many things prior to joining Sleep Science Academy including medication, breathing programs, tai chi and yoga.
“I had a basket full of things I bought that were supposed to help me sleep.”
These things didn’t work because they weren’t getting to the root cause of her insomnia. She says she hadn’t yet addressed the underlying issues of what was keeping her awake.
It took a few weeks for Toni to start to see real improvement in her sleep. Now, she is falling asleep in her bed, and getting an average of 5-6 hours of uninterrupted sleep a night. Not only did the program help her sleep, but helped her address other areas of stress and anxiety she had been ignoring.
“My stories were keeping me stuck in a place I didn’t want to be.”
Now well rested, Toni is eager to go out and do things. She is back to doing hobbies she loves like gardening. She says her depression has also gotten better since going through the program at Sleep Science Academy.
“I felt so supported. I had so much help. If I got stuck they would help me through it. The material was easy to understand.”
Toni recommends the program to anyone who has issues sleeping.
“It’s designed for people who have tried other things and are feeling panicky about sleep. It gets into the reasons why a person can’t sleep and helps you deal with them.”
She urges anyone starting the program to stay with it and don’t give up!
